Stealth technology may once have been considered a top secret “Black Project.” Today everyone knows about stealth. Ben broke through the time hatch's secret (Black) project to the Ultra secret alien (Grey) project beyond and engaged the wheel, which transferred the island to a new location.
So, for me, Lost is a parable. I don't expect straight answers. I believe we, as an audience, are being placed in a position whereby we can grasp an otherwise hidden world, one that exists just outside of the mundane, one that we would never suspect, given the distractions of ordinary day to day life. It is the world of Intelligence and the secret shadow government which controls it. It rules the Fates and seeks no less than to control the Destinies of Man.
We have caught a glimpse of its methodology, it ruthlessness and its singular focus. We have been entertained by its covert terminology and CIA operational codewords, like those from the “Wizard of OZ.” And now we have we have looked into the heart of the Beast, into its innermost operational workings. We are realizing that Lost is, indeed, a conundrum, wrapped in an enigma and revealed through a riddle.
Only by the use of a parable can we hope to unravel such perplexities and grasp alien concepts, like secret Grey Projects hidden at the heart of an almost equally secret Black Project. Ben's final action in the Orchid Hatch was a perfect illustration of this concept. Again, Ben broke though the time-reversal (Black Project) hatch to get to the alien technology (Grey Project) in the ice cave. Perhaps in time (or zero-time) we will gain an even greater understanding of the Shadow realm and its governance.
