Have started watching from the beginning to see if I can see any more clues and have only got to episode 6 and twice the colours black and white have come into the story lines.
Once when Locke was playing backgammon on the beach and Walt was watching.
And 2nd time when Jack, Kate Charlie & Locke go back to the cave to get water supplies and find the bodies ...Jack finds two stones in the dead persons shirt ..one black one white.
This is just a quick describtion on YIN-YANG - read up on it and it fits into place.
Are these the tattoos on Jacks Arm?
Was this the basis of the Dharma experiments?
In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (simplified Chinese: 阴阳; traditional Chinese: 陰陽; pinyin: yīnyáng) are generalized descriptions of the antitheses or mutual correlations in human perceptions of phenomena in the natural world, combining to create a unity of opposites in the theory of the Taiji. The term liang yi (simplified Chinese: 两仪; traditional Chinese: 兩儀; pinyin: liǎngyí, lit. "two mutually correlated opposites"), also known as Yin and Yang or earth and heaven has a similar meaning.
The concept of yin and yang (or earth and heaven) describes two opposing and, at the same time, complementary (completing) aspects of any one phenomenon (object or process) or comparison of any two phenomena. They are universal standards of quality at the basis of the systems of correspondence seen in most branches of classical Chinese science and philosophy, traditional Chinese medicine being an example.
This Simbol(Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents "everything", while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called "yin" (black) and "yang" (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other.
Will keep watching and update if I see anymore
