This theory refers to Adam and Eve discovered in "The House of the Rising Sun" episode of season 1.
When they discovered the bodies of adam and eve I was quite intrigued.
Especially when they found the black and white stones in the pocket of the man. Jack also mentions that the bodies were dead for about 40 to 50 years old.
By now we have all read about the reincarnation theories. Reincarnation plays a big role in the "chosen one" themes I beleive.
Richard Alpert came to locke when he was just a boy and gave him the Dai lama test or whatever its called to see if he was a reincarnated form of someone he once knew on the island.
John though has different plans. He is not ready to embrace his destiny yet so Richard waits a little while and tries again, but fails.
Back to the fact that the bodies are 40 to 50 years old. That would put the time frame of the persons death from 1954 to 1964. Who do we know was born in between those times. JOHN LOCKE. Locke was born in 1956. Confirmed.
Is it possible that locke was a former leader on the island in another life, and now has been reincarnated once his old self died.
