I come to the theories page to check my thoughts against my fellow lostaholics, and I notice the huge 4-toed statue we all know and love. Now for some reason I hadn't thought of this before, but it hit me like a ton of bricks now... Through evolution we will lose our baby toe. In a class our professor stated this would take thousands of years, but that it will happen, since the small toe was no longer needed in our modern life. Evolution. We've seen the characters 'evolve' from their past, present, and into the future. The one thing that is always there is the island and its influence. The island is the constant in all their lives. Shifting, manipulating, and influencing to get what it wants. The island has been around forever as far as we know, and who's to say that it wont always be around in some way. Kinda like how we are supposed to rethink death, maybe the island is 'always' there in some state or another.
I come back to the 4-toed statue, and the dead doctor. We see him wash ashore almost a whole day before he actually dies. What if the foot statue is the same way, we saw it but it hasnt happened yet. The same way we have seen the future, but it hasnt happened yet for out losties still stuck on the island. We know it happens, we just arent entirely sure when or how.
Im sure all the answers will be given to us, in time.
Thank you for viewing.
