So it hit me while watching Cabin Fever, as I was watching Keamy convince Frank into flying the Helicopter. THERE IS NO WAY THERE WERE EVER TWO HELICOPTERS ON THAT FREIGHTER. That got me thinking a lot and here is what I came up with. There is a ring around the island, every time you travel through it you go through time. The hints were in “The Constant” when Frank claimed Daniel told him to stay on a bearing of 325. A true 325 bearing through the donut will not result in time travel, but as we see Frank struggled a bit, and ended up landing about a day and a half after they took off. The Rocket was closer, it only deviated 31 minutes as it rushed to the island. Doc Ray got tossed over and floated along and by my guess ended up a few days in the past. (it took him a while to float to the island and he still landed before he left). Michael followed bearing 305 as directed by Ben. The caused Michael to come out the other side severa! l weeks before he left. This is what allowed him time, to get rescued, work his way back to New York, with no passport or money, while not letting anyone know who he was, then still set up an apartment and alienate his sun before Tom showed up 10 days after he left. Which brings us to the meat of my theory. The Helicopter we saw crash in the Season three finale, was the same one Frank has been flying all season. In fact at some future time Frank will be forced to fly to the island, loose the bearing, and crash weeks before he took off.
