Apologies if this is already out there
I had read awhile ago that Claire and Aaron were originally very significant to the over arching story of Lost. Recently I had been thinking. When Claire first saw the psychic, she was told the baby must not be raised by another. Shortly thereafter, he changes his tune, claiming he found a nice family to raise the child, ultimately putting Claire on the doomed plane.
Now here is where my theory begins. Locke was adopted. He never knew his biological parents until late in life. Ben, while he lived with his father, couldn't really count Roger as a father figure. And now Aaron, who is being raised by Kate-noticing a lack of biological parenting?
People have speculated over Christian Shepard's name. I realize it seems like I'm bouncing everywhere, but stay with me. I took the name, and began searching the bible. Lo and behold-there were biblical Aaron's, johns and Ben's. Also-there was a Jacob. My thought-after Locke, who will most likely protect the island with Ben on his mission of vengeance, Aaron will take over. Why Aaron? Because Aaron, like all of the others, has parent issues. Aaron, also, seems to be chosen by Jacob. I say this because I believe Jacob was using Christian's body to lure Claire away
