I have seen many theories as to the identity of Adam and Eve who were found in the cave in Season 1. These include Desmond and Penny, Jack and Kate, and Bernard and Rose. The theory is that at the end, our happy couple will travel back in time to be found later by themselves. This doesn't sound anything like the story of Adam and Eve. Why would they call a couple in a cave Adam and Eve if there was no relevance to the reference?
What seems more likely to me is that they are survivors of the Black Rock shipwreck and the ancestors of the Hostiles before the Dharma Initiative caused the impossibility of giving birth.
As for moving the island in time, wouldn't the island already exist throughout time (except before it was created and after it is no more)? Would they be moving the island to a time before or after there was an island there (potentially vast scales of time) or would they move themselves to a different time on the same island? Would increasing the rate of time move the island with plate tectonics to where it will be in the future? (I realize that is far-fetched.) My personal opinion as to the concept of time on Lost is that it can flow at different rates in different places, causing all manner of strange effects, but one cannot "time-travel" in the Back to the Future sense. Perhaps one could "move the island" with a change in the magnetic field. If GPS, for example, said the island was in a different location, wouldn't it be the truth considering position in space is a relative term?
