It's all about the things we have lost in perspective. First of all the numbers are some kind of magical link between all the characters who were dead or alive. The 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 . Those equal 108 the button code. But it also means a lot more. Second of all why lost are created in 2 sections, flashback and present time? You could say it's for knowing the past (or future) of the characters but what about all of those events are in the present . What about Hugo's and his imaginary friend were right after all it's the numbers he play that reruns. Well it couldn't be that because it wasn't his number it what the one of the psycho maniac of the Santa Rosa mental institution who were at the Dharma island. How many doctors or behaviorists are on the island for the Dharma? One. Ben and others are some experimental subjects , like Hurley that's why he was free to go when they capture the jack offensive. Then truth is their is no island, all those^people were in the fool head of Hurley who is falling over the window of Santa Rosa in coma. Remember the picture of island in the office of Hurley' doctor. Now lets just see how could that match with our two black fellows, the boys have a Stephen King Shining, he is the ONE the evil. he and Shannon were the answers.

Hugo is a real characters who have imagine a lot of characters, when he fall, he enters a door just like in The Dark Towers especially the tome 2 and 3. He enter in a world full of food, medicine's-psychiatric test AND THE NUMBERS.
John Locke is the Gunslinger of Lost, he his the one who like the main characters of Dark tower receive a punishment in past by his father. After all he was trying to be a better man but was a drug dealer. He one the island re-born like in DT 2. He found himself master of the island because she was made for him created by him.
Desmond found out another door when like in the dark tower Jake characters he found the race around the world competition. He enter another door.
Charlie is Without any doubt the Eddie character of King's novel.
Rose is the Susanna of the Kings novel.
