In the box Jack would find Christian, Eko would find (deep down inside they desperately wanted to correct the relationships thay they ruined). Locke found his dad from the box, Sawyer would find the same man (im pretty sure Locke's dad is the real Sawyer) Claire i think would find her mother or maybe Christian as well as Jack, Desmond would find Penny, Charlie? would he find his brother... they had a rocky ending to their relationship and he was in Australia to see his brother, based on tricia tanaka i think Hurley would find his father. However, I have no idea what the significance of being able to bring these people to the Island is.
Now heres a question if the box gives people what they want/need (i forget how Ben said it) can the recruit's bring their families to the Island through the box? Maybe they already did... is that why the vast majority of others are not concerned with leaving as much as Juliet and Jack.
It look like Locke's dad was just waiting to be tortured by Sayid... he showed up on the Island like that? Clearly Kate had been taken for a specific reason seeing that Ben was able to infiltrate Locke's mind and get him to bring her back and also bring sayid. (im basing this on the fact that locke returned and said I did what you wanted me to do or something like that to Ben)Then what is Sayids role in Ben's plan... ill get to that. But first Does Ben think Locke will kill 'real sawyer'/anthony cooper and thus his connection to the Island will discipate? Locke doesnt have murder in him (i dont think), but maybe ben already knows that. Maybe thats why Cooper looked like he was all set to be tortured (by sayid, and thats why Locke/ben brought him. When Sayid tortures Cooper I think we will find out that he is 'Sawyer', this would help to explain why sawyer was taken by Others. Now im not sure but could last nights episode be 2 weeks after they were originally captured. Ben told kate was it? that the next 2 weeks would be uncomfortable (not an exact quote)
What I am saying (i guess) is that Ben knew Locke has/had a connection to the Island since arriving, and it is causing problems for Ben (maybe this is why he hasnt gotten better yet).
I will end this with a few questions and im not saying it has to do with the rest of the post... is Locke the Universe, is he course correcting? Is he a decendent of a hostile? Did the implosion of the swan swing the balance of power back to the hostiles?
I think Locke may choose the side of the hostiles and not the others... i think or i hope we see start of the 2nd Purge with Jack on one side and Locke on the other.
And last nights episode was AWESOME!!! keep em coming guys
Also based on Rousseau's tears i think we must believe Alex is her daughter and was taken from her. But i think its clear that at some point she had some involvement with the others after all she knew were to find the Submarine and disappeared while the losties watched Jack managing not to be captured. I think Rousseau was married to Ben at some point, it was probably her decision to leave him and thus she was banished from their village.
