ya i got a theory LOST stands for Land Of Scientific Testing. they flew over a place like the Bermuda tinangle and the time there is differnt than the rest of the world. it is a little bit slower. (that's why it took Sun long to get pregnent) The scientist made the island and the hatches specificaly there because no one else will see them. Because they cant be seen they are in a place like the Bermuda triangle thing.
So they made the plane crash to see what people will do to survive. will they work together or do anything to get out of there like michele did. the others are some of the scientist and they have telivision to watch what they are doing and sent the other people to the suvivors to see them firsthand so they said they were survivors so the other people wouldnt know that they are being tested. the reason the "others" take people is to check there health and make sure they are not sick and to test medication on them. the reason they take so many people. is that they need to test medication while they are at it. so they grab a whole diffent group of people to test it on. Women, man , blacks, whites, children.
