Religion could explain some events on the island. Mr Eko is the obvious clue. But the survivors are realising the difference between good and evil, then changing their ways. Flashbacks generally show that survivors who were "good" before the crash are becoming less good. "Evil" people are becoming good, such as Sawyer and Kate. The Monster reflects ones true nature (the pilot saw fear, Locke saw beauty, Eko saw strength). Good things happen to good people (Locke and Rose's health). The Others only take good people and children. Do the Others believe they are working for God?
