Well I will most likely ramble here, so bear with me. I like many other have become obsessed with this show so here are my theories:
Locke: Why is he in a wheelchair? And why is he NOW working in a box company after being a home inspector?
I believe after Helen decided not to be with him after he helped his father with stealing money from those mobster looking guys, he went back in and took the money. The mobsters were watching him and after Locke has successfully put the money in the bank (or maybe they took it, I just think he kept the 200k because of his being able to afford the phone sex operator calls from episode 4). They came and beat the HELL out of him, causing him so much damage that he lost the ability to walk (spinal cord injury? left him for dead?).
Another mole in the group:
If you believe there to be another mole you have to think about the flashbacks. Certain people (kate for instance) don't have any flashbacks to the days or weeks right before the flight. Locke does, so we can rule him out (he went to australia to do the walkabout, and then was sent back by the company...so I doubt he has any connection to being an OTHER). Anywho we just need to think about the fact that a lot of these people have criminal backgrounds, and maybe they were offered safety if they help the Dharma people???
My thoery on why they are all there and what links them all together:
Psychics! They all have some form of psychic twinkle (or "shine" if you are a fan of stephen king lol) and that Dharma is set up to study that. It makes sense to me because of the certain special things they have all done. Hurly and his using the numbers, that paired with his somewhat down look on life, may have inadvertantly caused all the bad luck to happen to himself. Jack and his seemingly miraculous healing. Sawyer and his ability to con people (a slight psychic twinkle would help). And more so than ANYONE ELSE...WALT. Walt was given "tests" with the others, and has obviously shown some astral projection (appearing to people without actually being there). I feel like the island increases all this, thats why when Walt was reading about a Polar Bear...one came...or when Kate was thinking about a black horse who saved her life, one came. Not to mention all the prolific dreams they all have...its all because they have a psychic connection some how.
Maybe Dharma and the others are the good guys, because they are putting them all on the island to help get them ready for a coming threat?
Whats with the button?
The button created a magnetic barrior around the island, making it seeminly invisible, and unable to have anything tracked to it.
That connects to the season finally where desmond's woman (penelope) was apparently trying to track him. My thoery was she put a GPS tracker on his boat to keep track of his race and root for him. When he went off the map, she paid those 2 guys to look for him. When it starts beeping they say "did we miss it again!?" Like when desmond forgot the button that one time, they got it for a min but lost it. And when the button and the hatch was destroyed they got a clear beacon and can now track the island.
Those are just a few of my theories, feel free to pick it apart, or add to it...I am looking forward to it...also excuse my rambling lol.
