LOST Theories - DarkUFO

Garden & Guardian by Christian's BabyMama

My theory pulls from the many theories that have the Island as the Garden of Eden.

First, I believe our main clue to this coming from the Losties naming the skeletons found in the cave "Adam & Eve'. According to the Coptic Book of Adam and Eve (at 2:1-15), and the Syriac Cave of Treasures, Abel's body, after many days of mourning, was placed in the Cave of Treasures, before which Adam and Eve, and descendants, offered their prayers. Hmmmm.... No doubt that other religions and traditions are incorporated, but this may truly BE Adam & Eve.

So Cain (MIB) kills his brother Abel (mostly attributed to jealousy in religious texts). I believe the boy covered in blood that appears to Flocke and Sawyer is Abel. Perhaps he's the third supernatural being on the Island and the reason MIB is condemned to eternity on the Island. His penance? The priest in Ab Aetero discussing penance would be heavy symbolism.

According to the Qur'an, Cain (Kabil) buried Abel (Habil), prompted to do so by a single raven scratching the ground, on God's command. The Qur'an states that upon seeing the raven, Cain regretted his action [al-Ma'idah:27-31], and that rather than being cursed by God, since He hadn't done so before, God chose to create a law against murder: "If anyone slew a person – be it for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew the whole people; and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people."

OKAY - this can explain why it's been so important for bodies to be buried immediately - remember Amy and her insistence on burying the bodies of the Others rather than leaving them? Also, there seems to be a dark cloud over those who murder and their quest for redemption - Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Micheal, Ana Lucia, Eco, etc.

After the death of Abel, God gave Eve a son, Seth. Josephus refers to Seth as virtuous and of excellent character in the Antiquities of the Jews, and reports that his descendants invented the wisdom of the heavenly bodies, and built the "pillars of the sons of Seth", two pillars inscribed with many scientific discoveries and inventions, notably in astronomy(Lighthouse maybe???). They were built by Seth's descendants (or replacements/candidates?) based on Adam's prediction that the world would be destroyed at one time by fire and another time by global flood, in order to protect the discoveries and be remembered after the destruction. So - Seth is good & the protector, perhaps protecting the Island or mankind from destruction. Sounds like Jacob. The scientific discoveries can be references to the Island qualities sought by Dharma.. Global flood - maybe why the Island is underwater?

Maybe rather than casting Adam & Eve out of the Garden of Eden, the Garden was cast out of the time/space. Reaching into another theory I read recently, perhaps it originated in Tunisia, which is why turning the donkey wheel can return a person there.

Thoughts welcome!
