LOST Theories - DarkUFO

Why does everyone keep saying that the island was SUNK by a hydrogen bomb detonation?

If an H-Bomb went off, do you really think that the swing-set would still be standing?

Come on...

Well, here we are, already through our first steps into the Endgame of LOST, and how exciting it is!! But what's going to happen next? And where is all of this headed? Will it be resolved satisfactory? I'm not sure...

As I type this, I'm re-watching the Season 6 premiere for the 3rd time. There are so many things going on, it's easy to miss, and even some of our most revered bloggers and re-cappers are missing some key issues.

So, before we delve into what I think is going on, let's clear up some of the big issues...

As stated above, I 100% believe that the island was NOT sunk by the H-Bomb. If it is revealed that it WAS, then the writer's of the show are officially idiots on a massive scale. How are the barracks, the swing set AND the statue foot still standing after the bomb goes off? Why does it seem as though everything is in place...just underwater?

The simple answer is: IT IS A RESULT OF SOMETHING ELSE, AND IT WILL BE REVEALED BY THE END OF THE SHOW.

Why is Desmond on that plane? Did you notice that Desmond is looking intently on Jack as Jack moves into his seat...and IS Jack in row 23, I could swear that he is now in row 24.

Also, listen very closely to the sound in the background, when Desmond calls Jack "brotha" and causes Jack to have a moment of De Ja Vu. It's the sound of what they are now calling "the sideways flash" buzz - it's subtle, but it's there. And then, of course, Desmond is gone. Coincidence, I think not.

My guess, Desmond will be popping up, here and there this season, randomly waking our main crew as to what has transpired, because, well, I'll get to that...

DID THE BOMB GO OFF?

YES.

It went off, and did the exact same thing as when Desmond turned the fail-safe key. How do we know this? Because our Losties ears are ringing when they wake up...just like they were in a massive explosion! That's right folks, the bomb DID go off, but it went off in our original timeline, AND only served to send them through time, again. Notice that Juliet is in the same spot where Desmond turned the failsafe.

So now we know what Jacob meant by, "they're coming."

THE FEAR THAT THINGS WON'T MAKE SENSE...

The common fear is that somehow they won't be able to answer all of the major questions that have been posed since we landed on this rock. Well, I think a bigger fear is that even if they DO answer those questions, it won't make any sense at all...

Let me explain:

WILL THE MOTIVATION OF THE OTHERS FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW SEEM APPROPRIATE BY THE END OF THE SHOW?

I mean, from the beginning of the show, the Others seemed mysterious, elusive and more than anything else...evil and diabolical. The first one we were introduced to, Ethan, seemed like a deranged psycho-killer, willing to hang Charlie from a tree to run his experiments on Claire. When we are finally introduced to Ben, he goes from being a hapless victim of our Lostie's paranoia to nothing less than Hannibal Lector. He keeps saying that they, The Others, are the good guys, but we are never given a reason to believe him, and going back and reviewing the previous seasons, I can't see one instance when they actually ARE good people! Yet the Russian guy with the patch explains in Season 3 that the Losties are not capable of understanding the Other's motivations because they are not on Jacobs list. He goes on to explain that they are not on the list because they are flawed in some way, yet the Other's have full authority to kill anyone who stands in THEIR path.

And who are these "Other Others"?? The one's in the Temple?

One thing I'm starting to get sick of on this show is the fact that we keep getting introduced to some new set of Others that apparently were always there, we just never got a chance to see them.

Some people are concerned with Cindy and the children's appearance in the Temple, and how she looks different from the last time we saw her in Season 3 at the cage with Jack...well, that's a dumb argument, let me explain:

When the commandoes came onto the island in Season 4, Richard and Ben had a group of their people evacuated to the Temple, and Ben said it was the last safe place on the island. Cindy was with this group, and there they remained for 3 years...there you have it folks, mystery solved. Over the course of 3 years, Cindy turned into a hippy chick and has been taking care of those kids the whole time.

And I suppose that it's possible that the majority of the Others at the Temple are those that were evacuated to that location in Season 4, and I suppose that there could have been a core group of Others that always stayed at the Temple, protecting the "Fountain of Youth", but why didn't they hint at the existence of some high ranking Other's earlier on...

My main problem with the transition of The Others from Season 1 is that they are going from ninja psycho-killers to reluctant allies with our Losties, but that it won't make a damn bit of logical sense. And if THAT doesn't make sense, then a big part of the show for me won't make any sense.

The only way that I can see that it could make sense at this point is this:

The Others are aware of the fact that they are the protectors of the most awesome force in the entire world...THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH (OR LIFE, whatever), and they are made the protectors by Jacob who is directly connected to the higher power in the universe. The Others only follow whatever orders Jacob gives them. Jacob, being a higher power (not a god, but connected to that power) knows what his final agenda is...to prove the Man in Black wrong. Jacob knows that if HIS plan succeeds, then everyone will win, more on this later. But since he knows that his endgame is the happiness of all, he knows that our Losties must be left in the dark, suffer and even die in order to make this victory happen. The Others simply follow his orders to the letter, and so it makes them seem like the bad guys, a lot of the time. But this will at least have to be acknowledged at some point, by at least some dialog exchange, for it to mean something for the show.

SO WHAT WILL WE SEE HAPPEN THIS SEASON?

OKAY, TIME FOR MY THEORIES, PREDICTIONS...sorry it took so long.

My biggest prediction:

WHAT WE ARE SEEING WITH THE "FLASH SIDEWAYS" IS THE RESULT OF THE MAN IN BLACK APPARENTLY WINNING THE GAME....APPARENTLY.

If the MIB doesn't wish to keep playing out this endless test of humanity with Jacob, it is obvious that the Island being underwater is his ultimate victory. He wins. But little does he know how clever Jacob is.

Remember, when we see Jacob's Tapestry completed at the end of Season 5, it says (translated) May the God's grant you happiness...I think, something along those lines...

And that's Jacob's Plan: To give everyone involved happiness...even the Man in Black.

In the 2007 timeline we will see the Man in Black, via Locke, win the game. In the 2004 timeline, we will see Jacob win, but only because of things like Desmond's presence on the plane, and other things that we haven't seen yet!!

It's up to us to decide which one was right in the end. But both Jacob and the Man in Black will have ultimate victory.

The Man in Black will be able to "go home", and Jacob will prove him wrong. And I think that Jack will be the one that does it, and somehow it is connected to that scratch on his neck. Perhaps everyone else will "wake up" to the fact that they were on the island, but if nothing else, I think that Desmond is aware of it, and I think Jack will realize it as well....
