LOST Theories - DarkUFO

My best guess at what's going on is this...

Nobody was ever supposed to come to the Island. Ever. Essentially season 1 through 5 has been showing the audience a reality/timeline/universe that could exist, but that isn’t supposed to. From what we have already learned, Jacob has been bringing people to the Island for a long time (every one from the ancient Egyptians to the survivors of Ajira 316) in order to defeat his Nemesis. I believe that both Jacob and his Nemesis have seen what the end will hold for the Island - they both know the end game. By gathering up these people, by bringing people to the Island, Jacob has been trying to derail the REAL end in order to “prove his Nemesis wrong”. In doing so, Jacob has effectively created a different reality/timeline/universe that we have been watching since season 1 – again, a reality that could exist but is not supposed to. In my opinion, four sentences from their dialogue lead to me the above mentioned conclusion:

GRAY-HAIRED MAN: I don't have to ask. You brought them here. Still trying to prove me wrong, aren't you?
JACOB: You are wrong.
GRAY-HAIRED MAN: Am I? They come. They fight. They destroy. They corrupt. It always ends the same.
JACOB: It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.

With Jacob’s last assertion, it seems to me he is allowing for the possibility of progress BEFORE the end. “It only ENDS once. Anything that happens BEFORE that is just progress” implies that both men know what the end is and yet Jacob wants to change what happens before the ending in the name of progress – or change if you will.

By sending Jack and company back to 1977 where Sawyer and his group have established themselves in the DI, Jacob set in motion the circumstances that will continue HIS reality/timeline/universe. Whether or not the bomb goes off is irrelevant - what's going on is already the ALT universe. Jacob wanted the people he wanted on the Island for that very reason.

Season 6 will demonstrate how there are currently two versions of the same story: the way it should have happened and the way it happened after Jacob’s interference. What’s important to understand in this regard is that the characters we have come to love are all pawns in the conflict between Jacob and his Nemesis. Many of you will certainly cry foul upon reading this….. yes I know that Locke is special and Desmond is special and on and on…. I ask that you ponder one question: what makes those people special? I believe that both Jacob and his Nemesis are responsible for each character’s “specialness” both on and off the Island. This implies that they are not REALLY special; they were only given a “power” in order to serve their purpose to either Jacob or his Nemesis in their on-going battle.

What I beleive will be interesting is that whatever reality we are seeing - the original or Jacob's influenced one - the end will be the same; at least that's what his Nemesis beleives. In the end, the variables will have to find a way to maintain Jacob's version of things or all will be LOST.
