Why the bear was in the desert by Frank Howard

I don't know if anyone has made this connection, but I've never heard it mentioned before.

I think there is sufficient evidence to suggest that the Dharma Initiative has moved the island before.

We know that the polar bears were brought to the island by Dharma, but we never learned why. The only clue we were given were the bear cages (now used to imprison people like Sawyer and Kate), that trained the bears to push a big button (and receive a fish biscuit).

The only climate on the island suitable for a polar bear would be the chamber of the frozen donkey wheel. And so my theory is this: Dharma brought the polar bears to the island, and trained them to "push", so they could turn the frozen donkey wheel with the same motion.

And the thing that really locks this all in would be the fact that we have SEEN the remains of a polar bear in the Tunisian desert, the same place where Ben and Locke were transported after using the frozen donkey wheel.

So Dharma must have moved the island.
