Only 1 Timeline...PLUS Unified Field Theory

I’m going to just lay my theories out there and let each of you decide about it and maybe fill in the blanks yourself…the supporting documentation and links is too voluminous. Besides, too many participants will just come in and crap all over it, so why bother… ;-} I'll give my single timeline pitch and then try to plug in some holes with my Unified Field backstory theory.
In LOST time is treated like a phonograph record (LP) where history has been laid down in the grooves as it moved forward in what we would call real time. Each human is like an individual stylus needle adding their own experiences, thoughts, actions and history to those grooves. Whatever happens, happened and is recorded on the LP.
For reasons that I will explain later time is about to end for humanity but one supernatural entity has decided it doesn’t want mankind’s LP to reach its inevitable conclusion. So it gives instructions to create a device, a wheel/valve which reaches to a stream of super magnetic exotic matter which itself is connected to a superhighway of EM running throughout the earth’s mantle, even bubbling to the surface in places.
Having control of this EM allows him to manipulate time, to move within time particularly the ability to "turn back the clock" so to speak. In the phonograph analogy, it would be like lifting the needle off LP right before it gets to the end and setting back down at the beginning. Human history is played out and repeated over and over again.
But some of these humans have been given a special gift and the normal rules don’t apply to them. They’ve been "touched" by the hand of God and have become variables in the equation of time. They don’t have to follow the history of what is laid down in the grooves of mankind’s LP, they have choices, can exercise independence. The record of time cannot dictate to them, does not tell them what they can or cannot to do. Because they have a choice they can alter the established history. Each time the needle is lifted off the LP and placed at the beginning they have the ability to add to that record, to change things, and each time those changes become part of the original permanent record which build on one another each time the record is replayed.
There is only one timeline, one LP, one record. But due to it being replayed and that our "human variables" have been given the gift of choice the information in those grooves is altered and the history is changed. And each time it is replayed and changed, for reasons we have not been made aware of yet, human "progress" is made.
UNIFIED LOST THEORY (hold on to your seat)
There are Gods in this world. We don’t know if they have always been here or came on a comet or asteroid filled with exotic matter tens of thousands or millions of years ago. These Gods created mankind. Why? Who knows. Maybe they needed pawns, playthings or a desperate desire to be worshipped. They have also destroyed mankind several times because they keep finding it to be a flawed creature, unfit for heaven and undeserving of paradise.
Maybe because each time man is created he ends up fighting, destroying and corrupting. To these "bad" Gods humans are playthings, simple pawns to be manipulated and moved around their game board at their whims and for their pleasure. Who cares if one or a few billion have to be destroyed? When man inevitably goes bad it is as simple as wiping the slate clean and starting again.
But one of the Gods has a personal interest in mankind and believes he just needs more time to grow and develop. Maybe he is mankind’s original creator. He sees these repeated destructions as unproductive, unfair and a waste. We’ll call him "the champion of mankind", he likes humans and he sees something noble and holy in them the others don’t. He looks on them like a father or mother would their children.
Now mankind has been created and destroyed four times and he thinks that’s enough so he makes a plan for this 5th "age of mankind". He instructs his human supporters/worshippers to build a valve over a vein of "exotic matter" which allows him to manipulate atime through its super magnetic qualities. Beforemankinds "record" is played out and he is destroyed by the bad Gods our Champion turns back time. In effect he lifts the needle off the LP and places it back at the beginning. He creates a time loop that continually saves mankind from annihilation.
But that is not all he does. Replaying the exact history over and over will only delay the inevitable. So he gives certain humans a special gift that allows them the ability to change the decisions and choices they make in each succeeding replay of the LP. He even provides a nudge in the right direction every now and then. Human history and the human record are not only being retained but changed. New information is being added to the existing historical timeline, altering the results. Mankind is making progress.
LOST Backstory
LOST is about the repeated creation, development and destruction of mankind. There are ample and diverse mythological and religious references because LOST treats them all as historical variations based on the same historical events that happened, well, who knows how long ago. Egyptian, Hindu, Christian, Judaism, Greek, Roman, the religions of the Phoenicians, Hittites, Persians, Mayans, etc. all derive their doctrines and mythologies from a common source and common events. It’s all the same but the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent…
