In this rather short theory, I am about to express my disbelief that the Makers could have done such a crime as killing the character on whom the whole series is built.
And who's that? I believe it is pretty obvious that I'm talking about the tormented character of John Locke.
So, I am one of those who believe that the Makers are rather smart guys. Only such could have taken the series so far as it has, without making it feel exaggerated or tiring. Thus, having already made two grave mistakes in the past (I'm referring to the killing of one of their most exciting characters -Eko- after roughly one season of appearances, as well as to the Locke-less first half of the 3rd season, which is by far the most disturbing period of the series), they have learnt 2 important lessons: i) Never kill the most interesting characters, and ii) never let Mr. Locke out of the plan. Thus, I can't help but hope that they haven't committed such a CRIME as killing off Locke, the spine of the series, revising both mistakes in the series' climax.
But why is he so important? Well, there's plenty of reasons for that: Having BY FAR the most interesting backstory (only Des and Eko can rival him), Locke was born riddled with a rare disease, which he miraculously survived. He first met his parents when he was rather old, the mother being totally nuts, and the father conning him out of his kidney, making him break up with his girlfriend, as well as throwing him from the eightth floor. So what did John do for revenge against him? NOTHING. He was the only one who instantly understood what's going on on the island, after being miraulously cured. He survived an encounter with Smokey, and DIDN'T TELL ANYTHING ABOUT IT. He dreamt of Boone's death, as well as Eko being attacked by the bear. He caused the implosion of the Swan. He was shot by Ben and survived. He was manipulated by Ben the whole time. He was the one to stop the timetravelling. He was sacrificed, but he made the Oceanic 6 return. He was KILLED by -who else?- Ben. So! is there anybody still doubting that Locke's the heart of LOST?
But, so, am I writiing this theory because I HOPE Locke's still alive? Well, no. I'm writing it because I am sure he's still out there. It's really hard for me to believe that there is no Locke will in FLocke. If that had happened, why would he choose the smartest character in the whole show -sorry Richard, but I ain't saying "wiser"- to manipulate? Is it just due to fate that the man chosen was the second greatest tormentor of Locke? Why didn't he choose Sun, or Richard, or even Lapidus to manipulate? It's so simple: It's because Locke, a "farmer", always desired to take a revenge shot. After not being able to take it against hiis father, he chose Ben, whom he paid treated the same way he was treated: He manipulated Ben. So, could it be that Locke, at some time -his early meeting with Smokey?- made an agreement with the Man In Black? Could FLocke be a mixture between Locke's and the MIB's personality? Let's not forget that Flocke uses EXACTLY the same expressions and acts i! dentically with Locke...
Let us all hope the answer is yes!!!
