This is just a small theory I thought about after reading a couple theories about how Locke acts funny in Season 1. For some reason everyone just assumes that Locke saw the monster in the episode "Walkabout" or a form of Jacob. Thinking rationally as far as the show goes, haven't we seen a bright white light more than a couple times on Lost? What if the light John Locke saw was in fact a flash, similar to what the freighter crew and losties experienced after the FDW was turned? What if seeing this flash caused Locke's minds to swap from present Locke to say maybe, a future Locke at certain times? Or what if he was replaced by future Locke and imitated by MIB early on, and at some time this stops and the old Locke returns? Or what if it somehow gives him the knowledge of what will happen in the future, but also the knowledge that he has to lie about things for events to happen as planned or so that everything wi! ll work out in the end? Or what if it causes something else to happen to him... I'm not sure what that would be, but maybe through some comments we could theorize on what would happen to Locke if that WERE a flash, and come up with some explanations maybe for odd things in season one pertaining to him...
