Hi guys this is my first theory, so try and read it with that in mind.
This theory came to me while i was playing a video came called Civ 4. In that game you play the role of God or Jacob if you will and control all aspects of your factions actions. Building new tows, who to attack, what direction you want your people to go. While playing this particular game at about the 12 turn mark, its a turn based game, something happened that i didnt want.
Now at this point i wanted to start the game over to make sure that when the 12th turn came about i wanted something else to happen so i changed my actions to that point, and sure enough something different happened. However after playing about 50 more turns, something else happened that i didnt want, so i started the game over again from scratch did the same thing at the 12th turn and then changed events so that at turn 50 soemthing else happened that was favorible to what i wanted.
So how does this translate into lost? 1. There is no alternate time line. There is only one timeline. 2. What ever happened happened, but only in that singular time line. In order to change the future, you need to reset the whole time line (like starting the game over), changing the past doesnt start a new timeline, it just changes that time line. 3. The reason why MIB wants to kill jacob is because he keeps on resetting the game when it doesnt go the way he wants.
So lets say the first game played between MIB and jacob was in Egypt times. As that first game ended on the side of MIB, jacob reset the game, found the piece that would allow MIB to win the game, then offer him a choice to do or not to do what MIB wanted him to do to win the game.
Support for this is as follows. First the statement by Jacon "it only ends once, anything that happens before that is just progress." If you read that and then apply the theory that when the game ends the first time on time A lets say, then Jacob does something to extend it past time A anything that happens before it ends on time B is progress. Second Mrs. Hawking said that they are now reaching a point where the future is unknown to her. Most people think that she is refering to Daniels notebook, however i am under the impression that the real reason why she said that is because Jacob has told her how the previous game ended and she is doing soemthing to extend that past the point at which the last game ended.
So what does that mean for the timeline shown on TV? Since locke left in 2004 and then came back in 2007, they are telling us the next jump will happen with the 77 people to the year 2010. The "touched" will go 3 years in the future of this game. They will see a world not run by Jacob but run by the MIB instead. After they see what happened at the end of that game, the game is started over and they have full knowledge of that game and how it ended.
The ruler of the island has powers outside of the island, which MIB will use to change the future. When MIB said "You have no idea what i have done to get here" he is mirroring jacob's statement that "it takes a very long time when you make the thread". This is the first time that MIB used his powers to manipulate the past, thats how he won this particular game. Jacob however has done this many many times already, so when the next game started, he sent the losties to the past to start the new game because he was dead at the end of the previous game and could not do it him self. When Jacob said that they are comming, he didnt mean to that time line, he ment that they would be in the next game, not to the end of that one.
I am sorry if this has been posted before, please rip it to shreads and tell me where im wrong!
