I believe that Jacob for some reason (perhaps by time traveling) know that he will die, and is trying to prevent this by cheating death. via causeing time to REPEAT. MIB is caught in the time loop with him and wants to get off to continue living his life.
The last season show Jacob on beach he seens to content for me even happy. Then here comes MIB he seems to have been throught this so many times all he can think of is how much he wants to kill Jacob. Just to get off this crazy ride. He knows he has to find a loophole to stop the REPEAT of TIME Over and Over Again. Like Jacob said, there is only one ending and he know what that ending is. MIB does not know all he know is if I can kill him the ride stops.
There is only one problem he cant kill him someone else has to. he cant die yet. Because Jacob keeps finding ways to prevent that from happing. Thats why when Ben puts a knife in Jacob he stays alive long enough to tell Locke/MIB that They Are Coming! I notice that this was not something that MIB/Locke enoughed hearing. He seem mad to me as he pushed him in the fire.
Something has changed could it be the Sawyer/Jack etc. & Bomb going off that will change things and reset everything or something in some way? Locke/MIB is not happy at all because after all he wants Jacob Dead!
Because the show is called LOST, I think that many people have been brought to the island before I think all the so called OTHERS have been used by Jacobs to stop the end game his END. Once there they must stay. Someting interesting Richard said when Locke came back from from Ben turning the wheel he said "Welcome Home" At that point Richard reminds me of a Keeper, keeping the others in place, order until some point in time when they came get in the right timeline. I think this is where all the 815's will end up with Richard. Then they become the OTHERS.
The scene with Bernard and his wife: They seem content with just living their life. I think they know that everyting is REPEATing somehow and have decided to stop fighting it. Thats why they ask Julet to stay with them, they said " you people still fighting each other" So they maybe LOST but they are happy.
We (Fans) are just as LOST as they are. Thats why we keep trying to change the end game in some small way. Think about it if we had to Look at LOST over and over year after year seeing the same things happen with a few changes here and there but not really changing the the end (the end being when the show goes OFF! Ends!) whe would wants to kill Jacob too! So we are all MIB.
