As soon as i submitted Pt1 of this theory a whole new window opened up to me as to where this premiere would lead us and how this idea would develop through the rest of the season. This might be a little far-fetched but a good idea nonetheless. Go find part one and read it if u havent as this will make no sense if u have not read it.
here goes...
What if this scene of MIB and Jacob standing amongst the dead bodies is the END that they discussed in the opening scene of S5 finale?
As we have seen so far on Lost, everything does not need to happen in order. The timeline is all jumbled up so that would make it possible for the end of this entire story to take place at the very beginning of time on the island chronologically. STAY WITH ME.
Maybe richard was not on the Black Rock, but arrived on the island with this group with Jacob and MIB. Jacob somehow was the first to channel the powers of the island by making Richard ageless so that he would be able to guide Jacob since at this point he is only a little boy. Now, this could have something to do with Richard telling Sun that he watched all of her friends die. Maybe somehow, there will be a group of the characters we all know and love back in this group of the first people on the island. This is the war that Widmore was talking about. The key to the show was Jacob going through the future and hand picking his soldiers that would one day come and stop MIB from killing everyone on the island.
This could also be linked to saving the world as maybe however this ship arrives it goes through a window and back in time to before there were any people on earth. Hence, this would be where life on earth originated... on the island. If our losties dont go back to fight this war and stop MIB then it will end just as predicted.
The whole idea of the time loop on the show, is really a matter of course correction. There are supposed to be people on the world and everytime MIB kills this group everything loops back around to give Jacob another chance to figure out how to stop it.
Not really sure how to end this or what the central point will be that will allow Jacob and his army to stop this from happening but if i had to guess i would say it would be desmond. It was important for the Losties to return to the island, but they cannot win this war without him. He is special and he is the one who can change things once and for all.
