I keep going with this WHH vs. ALT business.
I want everybody, esspecially if you're anti-WHH, to take out a piece of paper, turn it landscape, and draw a circle for me on the right side. Just a small circle, an inch diameter.
Alright, now write PRESENT in the circle, and then draw 3 parallel lines from the circle to the center of the page. On one of them write (Radzinsky & Inman occupy Swan, Radzinsky dies), on the next write (Dharma mass grave found, Ben says they were purged), and on the last write (Adam & Eve die are found in caves)
Now, draw a similar circle on the left side of the page, and write PAST in it. And again draw 3 parallel lines, which line up with your other lines, and draw them to the center of the page, but leave a space so that the lines don't touch.
Now line up what I'm about to write so that the subject matter correllates to the topic of the line directly across from it on the opposite side of the page.
And where appropirate write (Adam & Eve die in caves), (Radzinsky witnesses "The Incident" at the Swan), and (Ben & Richard collaborate to commit purge).
Now, notice the lines are not touching, or in other words, not linking what we know of the past, to what we know of the future. They aren't touching, because there is the idea out there, that the future can and has been changed.
My question to you is, that as you look at the statements on the right of your page, don't you want to find out how each of those situations came to be? Haven't you been waiting to learn why Radzinsky died in the Swan, and who Adam & Eve were? We've seen the purge, and we've seen the mass grave, but if as you look at your paper you believe the past has and can be changed, then you must believe then you must believe those times are not linked, just as they aren't on your paper.
If that's the case, please draw a diagonal line downwards from each of your lines on the left side, and then draw 3 new parrellel lines underneath the ones you've already drawn on the right side of your paper. Connect those to a new circle on the right side underneath your first one, and write in it the word ALT, for alternate timeline.
Now sit back, and look at what you've got. Realize in the last 18 hours of this show, that they won't have time to tell you what happened that led to the original outcomes on the right side of your page. Understand that if they do produce new outcomes to fill in the blank lines underneath your original outcomes on the right side of your page, that they won't have time to explain why everything is suddenly different. And please keep in mind that they have alloted time to finish the "war" in the present, and explanation of the future, to sum up at least 7 main characters off island adventures in the past, and to present us conclusive answer for what happened in the 1800's, in the ancient past, in the early 1900's, in the 50's, and in the 80's. And they most certainly don't have time, after explaining all of that, to back and explain how none of those events link to any of the original outcomes listed on the top 3 lines of the right hand side of your page labeled present.
The only explanation. The easiest explanation, is if the past, links directly to the present we've always known. That's the only way.
So take out your erasor please. I'm sorry if you wrote in pen, and now erase the bottom 3 blank lines on the right side of your page title ALT, and once that is done, connect if you will, the lines of the present, with the lines of the past.
Yes I understand there are some small inconsistencies with WHH, whether it's eloise the rat, why Hawking felt she needed to help, or how past Desmond didn't maintain his memories of the island when he flashed forward in the constant.
But I remind you that all of these issues are teeny, tiny issues and pale in comparrison to the mess that would need to be cleaned up as outlined in the gigantic paragraph, 4 paragraphs up.
