I am a first time poster and I don't think I've read this on this wonderful site.
I'm doing my own re-watch and in the episode "this place is death" in season five Jin is with young rousseau's team. A member of the team is also carrying a guitar case similar to the the one with Hurley's...I now think that the guitar case isnt Charlie's :( but is jacobs...as far as whats in it i dont know, but that was Hurley's key to getting back with the others in 1977. Sun has her husbands ring, but at the same time, he's in a different time...and its a wedding ring, we all know Jacob touched Sun and Jin at their wedding, but in the time frame He was still jumping through time after he was found post freighter and they were getting on flight 316. I mean, i guess im saying nothing about the guitar case other than a man in the rousseau team in 1988 is carrying one too, which could indicate that he was too brought there by jacob.
It's safe to say jacob brings people to the island to be judged by smokey with what we can confirm the smoke monster does as seen with Mr. Eko and Ben. Theres a bunch of religious stuff going on in this show that i can't really follow myself cause I'm not religious...But If the Man-In-Black (MIB) is someone that judges people and has a similarity to a religious persona, which I believe is St. Peter?? Then Jacob might bring people to the Island to judge them...Until St. Peter/MIB honestly can judge someone and let them pass through to Heaven or where ever else you see fit. I get lost in LOST and think that theres way too much other than the simple line of these people died in a plane crash, the flashbacks are not a flashback, these people are getting a second chance to do things different much like Desmond wanted to in season 3. But that goes with whatever happened happened, and the universe has a way of course correcting itself...and yes they are all gonna die because they a! ll died the crash. and Jack, the Shepard will be the one that goes through and gets eternal salavation for everyone.
I just think the Dharma initiative stuff is crap and not to be worth paid attention to. The dharma initative is a creation of the creators(cant remember the names from the films) from ann arbors time spent on the island while they were judged...thats why its there and its there cause they wanted to find a way out of death, but everyone dies.
