OK, so I'm an avid reader of this site, and have posted a few theories in the past.
LOST is my favorite show of all time, but not because it's good tv, but because it's
a giant 6 year META PUZZEL, similar to the JJ issuse of WIRED mag, which drove me
crazy for an easy 2 weeks.
anyway, down to business.
Just to reiterate, this does not come entirely from my brain, and i have read similar theries on this site before, but everyones been so obsessed with whh vs alt, that YES, we seemed to have forgotten, that is not what the show is about, and every season, we get a NEW MAJOR SET PIECE.
I believe that set piece to be none other than THE TEMPLE.
Now, before I really open this up, I like two types of clues to figure out whats really happening on this show.
Now 1) (real world)
we need to realize that, yes, this is a tv show and is WRITTEN by real people. Season 3 was kind of all over the place for a while there and near the middle of producing that third season the writers had a big talk and soon after ANNOUNCED THE ENDING TO THE SERIES. which means, that they had to have come up with the shows final mythology.
And 2) clues from episodes (LOST world)
It was in the end of this third season that we first here THE TEMPLE brought up. (Ben draws a map while in the others camp in order to meet up with Jack to try and stop him from turning off the radio tower. (also notice, the symbol for THE TEMPLE is a DHARMA LOGO!)
POINT BEING...In season 3 they came up with the final mythology for the series, including THE TEMPLE, which they slyly introduced at the end of Seas 3 to get us thinking about it. So right at the beggining of their endgame they gave us our first clue of whats to come.
People seem to think the temple will be something ancient, similar to the statue or the smoke monsters layer underneath the temple walls. But it can't be that simple. where's the surprise there? There has to be a more jolting reveal. I am calling it now: THE TEMPLE IS NOT ANCIENT. not sure what it is exactly, but its not old. it has a DHARMA LOGO. Maybe from the future. Ben did say at the temple walls that THE TEMPLE was a half mile away or so so that no one could see it. why cant anyone see it? BECAUSE IT ISNT ANYTHING ANYONE COULD COMPREHEND.
So down to ALIENS (or maybe just very advanced people from the future [or maybe a more advanced evolution of man from an alternative universe, which may be the case since it seems from the comic con videos the producers are teasing us with alternative versions of the past, WHY NOT THE FUTURE AS WELL? ] ).
There are two pockets of intense Electro Magnetic fields on the island.
How the hell could they explain that while saying that Jacob is something mystical?
They can't.
Maybe the reason why the Island moves through space and time IS because its a god damn space ship.
A giant, ancient ship, unlike anything we've ever seen in film or television (because hey, neither is LOST).
It would explain the frozen donkey wheel, which is just the engine room. Turn this wheel, which looks similar to a pirate ship steering wheel on its side.
Now, i'm not going to say much more, because, like most of us, the writers have turned the show on its head, and I have no idea whats next. I wont even try to bore you guys with a fake version of what i think happened or is happening, instead I like to look at the clues weve been given and merely speculate.
