While rewatching season 1 one episode stood out to me the most so far, the episode 'Outlaws' Locke tells the story about how this golden lab showed up to his foster mothers home after his sister had just passed away. He also states that the dog slept in his sisters bed every night up until the death of his mothers death and then he just vanished, never to be seen again.
Let me warn you this theory isn't as complex as most on here but just a thought of what I have seen and where I think it could possibly go.
Ok so what if this lab that showed up to his mothers house was somehow Vincent. I do have two different reasons for this I just don't know how it would all fit into place.
reason one would be that somehow he was able to time travel to that particular time period and possibly recognized Jon Locke. Maybe the time that they spent together Locke gained some sort of knowledge and or was being trained somehow for what was in store for his future. Only reason for this thought was how Locke said that the dog just vanished after his mothers death. Was it coincidence that it was on the day his mother died?
reason two is this, what if Vincent didn't survive the crash after all? What if Jacob took over the body of Vincent as a cover for himself and as well to keep an eye out on everyone. This would make sense seeing how smokey could take the shape of the dead. And going to the theory of possibly being two monsters, One good and one evil. How else could Vincent be gone for so long without anyone knowing where he was at? So the finale of season 5 showed us Rose and Bernard and of course Vincent. I was thinking of what if the Jacob that essentially got killed by Flocke was just a decoy somehow? Which could be a very good possibility especially with this show.
I had also thought that maybe Vincent was Jacob when he time traveled back to Jon's house as well. As like I mentioned as a training and or some way of preparing him for what was to come. Which would sorta explain why Jon has such and infinity to the island.
