First of all, i just wanted to say that even though this is not a huge, elaborate theory,i felt like this was a better place to post this for discussion than the forums.
anyway, here goes. with all the recent talk about season 6 and what it will entail, there has been a lot of talk about an alternate timeline coming due to the detonation of the jughead. although this seems plausible, i just wanted to remind everyone of something that "darlton" has said repeatedly. remember back when the flashforwards were introduced, there was a lot of talk back then about "is this a definitive future?" or "maybe these events will never come to pass, and we will witness a different future." i remember carlton cuse explaining how, for example if they show jack off the island popping pills with an allman brothers beard etc. that it would be cheat to not have that be the ACTUAL future that ends up happening. he went on to say that they can't expect the audience to be emotionally invested in the story (flashforwards) if, in the end it's only going to change anyway. yes,he was saying it about the flashforwards , but if we applied that same logic to everything els! e on the show, wouldn't it make sense that the writers would take a different approach than to do exactly what they already said they wouldn't do? i'm not claiming that i know where they are going to go with the story, but i think this is one thing that they will NOT do. ????? anyone??
