Just remembered the episode where they show Lockes's story after he turned the donkey wheel. At the end of the episode Cesar takes Locke to the people injured in the Ajira plane crash. When Locke approaches Ben, Cesar asks if he knows this man, Locke replies "That's the man that killed me." At the time we as viewers were led to believe that this Locke was our good old friend who was killed, now we know that in fact that was the MIB. Lost writers are very skilled and expect us to rewatch episodes after seeing new ones, thus telling two stories at once. Just like Ususal Suspects, after the reveal, it is a totally new experience. More bang for our buck, god bless'm! Point is, by Locke 2.0 saying "That's the man that killed me", could MIB possibly be suggesting that Ben had killed him in some flashback we have yet to see, just as he has killed Jacob? We all know Ben's killed a lot of people so far, so I wouldn't put ! it past him. Maybe this is how he came into Jacob's favor and became the new leader of the Others?
One side note:
In the season 5 finale, the opening scene showed a close up of Jacob's fire. What I noticed though was not the fire, but the abundance of grayish-white ash in the pit. I suspect that this is the ash that surrounds "Jacob's or MIB's" cabin. Personally, I think that it is MIB in the cabin the entire time we have been shown it. Also, Lost writers seen to be very detail oriented, I don't think that we would have seen so much ash in the opening seen of the finale for no reason!
Let me know whatcha think
