Ok this will probably be an unpopular theory and I really hope I'm wrong but I believe that all indications point to Adam and Eve being Rose and Bernard and here's why....
Firstly we have been told/lead to believe by Darlton that the season 5 finale would see then end of time travel on the show and considering that it is most peoples assumption that Jack, Kate etc are about to be thrust back into the present it would then be impossible for Adam and Eve to be Jack and Kate as without time travel in season 6 how would they get back to before 815 crashed in order to die in that cave?
I believe that Rose and Bernard will NOT be flashed back to the present with Jack etc as they were nowhere near the “incident” and were not touched/chosen by Jacob.
Secondly, throughout the show one of, if not the main theme has been Black and White. Adam and Eve were even found with a black and a white stone. Rose and Bernard as a couple visually represent this.
Thirdly, it seems apparent that Jacobs main goal was to prove that humanity can live together peacefully without resorting to violence and destruction. In the season finale we find Rose and Bernard have lived for 3 years in just that manner, choosing to remaining separate from all the conflicts that where taking place with the DI and the Others. To emphasis this fact they declined joining Jack etc in their quest to detonate Jughead with Bernard/Rose even giving them a mini lecture about all the conflict and destruction questioning their need to take such a destructive course (or something to that effect).
In summary as a couple Rose and Bernard represent Jacobs ideal of humans living in harmony and with one being black and the other white they visually represent a union of Dark and Light. Quite poetic if you ask me.
Having said all that I would still prefer Adam and Eve to be Jack and Kate as I’m not a big Rose/Bernard fan and think it would be far cooler considering they found them in the first place. Plus someone had a very cool idea that the final scene of the show, mirroring the very first scene, could be a close up of Jacks (aka Adams) eye closing as he dies……LOST!........But unless they are going to get zapped back in time again I don’t see how Adam and Eve could be any of the main losties.

Ps. Here’s a question for you all. How do you think Adam and Eve died? Its very unlikely that the both laid down and died of old age next to each other. Maybe one died, was placed there and the other simply laid next to them and waited for death? Or did they both die and were ritually placed there by someone else? Please discuss.
