Jacob’s last words were “they’re coming”.
Well, who could that be except the Losties of course? Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hurley and Sayid.
From the beginning, the evil forces have been trying to separate them all. Because somehow, their unity is a threat to them. So obviously, the bad Locke should be afraid of their arrival.
How is that possible, you will tell me. The incident made it possible.
Jack did not change anything to the past. I believe that the failsafe key that Desmond turned triggered a hydrogen bomb, which neutralized the electromagnetism anomaly. The Dharma Initiative knew about the hydrogen bomb, because Jack first showed them how to resolve the problem.
So what happened to Desmond after he turned the failsafe key, will also happen to the Losties. They will travel in time once again. So as Jacob said, they are coming back to the present time.
Now as for the evil forces, it is now clear that the smoke monster is one of them. But more importantly, Christian and Claire are too.
Illana pointed out that jacob left the cabin a long time ago, and since then other people have been using it. By the tone she said it, we can also assume that those people are “the bad guys”.
So Christian and Claire are the bad guys. But they are not Christian and Claire.
Remember what the Others’rules are? All dead corpses must be burried. Why?
To prevent what happened to Locke. And I believe that what happened to Locke also happened to Christian and Claire. Evil spirits took the form of any dead body which was left unburried. (that also extends to Eko’s brother and Alex_ whose body was uncovered by Miles).
So I would guess that Claire’s body is still somewhere in the DI village, and Christian’s somewhere on the island.
Christian with the help of the smoke monster has been trying to kill the Losties one by one or at least to divide them. First Jack (when he fell from the cliff), then Eko. Probably Boone, and then Michael. He made Locke move the island, so that the helicopter carrying the rest of the Losties could not come back to the island. And he finally sent Locke off the island knowing he would die. So is the black shirt man we see speaking to Jacob, the same man who pretended to be Christian and then Locke?
Well, at least, we know he has now taken the identity of Locke.
Now can Jacob die? What can the losties do against the evil force?
If the guy we saw talking to Jacob is the same guy who killed Jacob, then I believe that he is just a spirit now and that he might have died in the past.
That would mean that Jacob can die too, but more importantly can just live as a spirit, and still be powerful. That is probably why he was not afraid of dying.
Like we have seen with Eko and Charlie, even if they are dead, their spirit is still living.
And that is how they can all fight against the evil force in the end. But there must definitely be more than that. The Losties are special and are all connected somehow.
