This thought just occured to me sitting at work(productive I know) in the episode 316 Eloise states that John Locke would act as the Proxy. At first I thought she meant the proxy in place of Christian Shepard but upon the revelation that Locke is not Locke it caused me to reconsider her words. What if he was not acting as proxy for Ghost Dad but for the Man in Black? Think of the past seasons when we have seen Christian he has been saying that he could speak for Jacob but he obviously was not in how he manipulated Locke into turning the Frozen Donkey Wheel and the fact that in turning the wheel TMB aka Bizarro Locke(superman shoutout) told Real Locke that he HAD to die in gathering the Oceanic Six to come back. I believe that Christian was the intial proxy for TMB helping free him from his prison and as he had no corporeal form helped bring someone more influential to the island to reincarnate(HP goblet of fire s! houtout)and assasinate Jacob. Also I was researching on Wikipedia(I know the definitive site for all knowledge) about proxys in statistical equations here is the link for all who are still reading this...

I found it interesting because of the line a proxy is in itself nothing of great interest just as Locke was just a box salesman always wanting to be something more. Right after that it says a Variable can be attained. What that variable is exactly in the Lost equation is of some debate but allow me more extreme speculation that the variable is going to be original Locke's inherent goodness and because if Bizarro Locke is the only Locke around and he is the bad guy I might go all Lorena Bobbit on Darlton(mid nineties shoutout). Also lending some credence to this theory is the defintion of a Proxy War...

Just like the United States and USSR in the Cold War the Man in Black and Jacob seem to be trading blows through the characters we love so dearly.
