Interesting..but the white/black shirt guys were not twins. So maybe Jacob and his twin are going around touching the losties (we do not know who touches whom b.c they look the same) and effecting the outcome of their game. So this means the black shirt guy is someone else, not Jacob's twin--right (I know what fraternal twins are, but in the old testment, they're identical).
This is my point, I really don't think that the creaters of the show created a multi-cultural show to present as their main thesis an ethnocentric, bible-centric story. So i think that the game itself is the problem. Throughout the show all groups presented themselves as the good guys, even though they behave unethically. They all, both the religious group (blindly follow Jacob) or scientitic group (who wanted to exploit the island), not to mention they kill people).
These bipolarizing ideology of man is the problem, it's a pointless game. So what is the other side. They other side is the island, the natural order of things and perhaps Gaia, the island is the true force. Again, I don't think that the writers would develop a bible-centric story in Hawaii. The reason why the shot the series in Hawaii is they needed the natural envirnoment to be the main character, the main thesis of the story. Also, why would the island be brought up at all as a force, if it is just a bible story. Come on- it just does not make any sense. So it is good/evil vs. the island.
More symbolism supporting the island (gaia hypothesis), The island has a consciousness. John locke was an advocated for self consciousness and also naturalism. James lovelock wrote the Gaia hypothesis, in which, he advocates that the earth itself (the island) is a complete organism and has a sort of consciousness. Rose and Bernard also talk about this in the finale. The game is pointless, not play it just be.
So the story comes down to a deconstruction of philosophical ideology that encompasses religion and scientific ethic and the environment. A modern and relevant stance.
PS i know this is poorly written but how much time can I spend on a TV show--back to reality.
