Apologies if this idea has already been posted. In thinking about the Magic Box and Ben's reference to John bringing his father to the island, might this simply be another instance of Locke having time traveled? Since he knew approximately the time of when his father arrived, at some point (maybe during S6?) he travels back to further perpetuate the WHH mentality, and found where his father was after the accident? Then he brought him to *that* Locke's present and instructed Richard that to say that he (locke) brought him there? Probably crazy, but ceiling cat has tried.
