Well I wish to keep this short and simple. So here we go. Now the WH,H theory is shot to death by two simple facts.
1) The text at the end of Lost, was BLACK with WHITE background, Instead of the past 100+ episodes having black with white text. This is the result of two big changes. Jacob being killed this time around, by the loophole, and the H-bomb being blow up. The result of either of these two, or both together changed things. There is now a power shift from here on out, symbolized by the white text. Which ever of the light/dark side ruled before, now no longer rules. That part is obvious.
Every single time loop, every single Jacob-is-______, every single you can't change things at all theory is now dead. It's ok March, it was a good run while it lasted though. Looks like that Swan never gets built. The "quarantine" door Locke pointed out to Ben at the beach 30 years later, was blasted there obviously from an H-bomb now, and not from a failsafe-key.
Most of the theorists were right about it though, it was mostly Desmond who DID change things. He led to the chain of events bringing 815 to the island, running into Daniel Farraday, the losties leaving the island, meeting Hawking and coming back, John locke turning the island in time, causing daniel to go to Ann Arbor in 1974 to discover how to change the future, the O6 returning carried out daniel's plan after his death, preventing the swan from being built, and I can almost guarantee that maybe season one opener won't end up with the 815'ers safely landing in LAX, rather there could be some surprise further even we are yet to know. But I wouldn't rule out LAX as a possibility.
But with all this said, there is still one, and only one, irrefutable fact, that will not be disputed, and cannot be disputed, and that is that now there is a WHITE screen with BLACK "LOST" characters, the very thing that shows from here on out, things are changed.
If Locke lands in LAX, the loophole will never occur, and Jacob will still be ALIVE! What if for ALL OF HISTORY Jacob was the one who was losing the battle (the black screen) and this time around when Jacob get's killed, the surprise is on the black haired fellow, because Jacob manipulated EVERYTHING, including the O6 going back into the past, blowing up the Hatch, PREVENTING his own death from an action 30 years in the past. And this time around, we are led to believe that Jacob died and the black haired guy is victorious, but watch, I bet anything, that in Season 6, you will learn that now, the Others are finally controlled by Jacob, which hasn't been the case in a very long time. Bram's group had intended trapping the black haired guy in the cabin, and somehow he has trapped Jacob in there. And their comment is that "someone else is using this cabin" when she finds Jacob's tapestry. Well this time around, Jacob is freed, and he starts manipulating things so that he can pr! event his own demise from this loophole. So, if that doesn't SPELL OUT change for you, then I don't know what will!
2)The conversation with Jacob in the very first scene. Time and time again is appears that they bring people to the island for some reason, and the man with dark hair says that it's inevitable, no matter when and who you bring people, they always end up in the same place... killing each other, betraying each other, taking sides, and it always has the same conclusion, essentially death. Every Black Rock, french expedition, and hot air baloon in the history of the island ended in destruction and not achieving whatever purpose they make it. Doesn't it seem to me that Jacob and possibly a group of whomever else were always searching for someone, possibly a hero, or a leader, or hope in humanity, and this dark haired man is the "you can't change people" adversary. He is tired of Jacob's group always bringing people to their island, because it's always the same result. He plots to kill Jacob, and jacob knows of this loophole he will use. So Jacob creates the chain of Desmond event! s leading to John Locke moving the island, and sending the people in the past to blow up the hatch. This keeps John Locke from ever landing on the island, therefore the "usurping" of his character by this black haired guy, will never happen. John Locke's persona was the loophole, he duped Richard and the Others pretending to be a ressurected leader. But with NO knowledge of John Locke ever, since 815 never crashes, There is no "ressurected loophole" to lead Ben to Jacob to kill him, and Jacob is victorious.
So to do this, Jacob proceeded throughout the mid-1900's to manipulate a new group to bring them here, the 815'ers, interestingly enough, the loophole himself, John Locke. The con is on the black haired guy, who seemingly has been a force manipulating the 815'ers including John Locke also. Jacob just out-manipulates him, using his own loophole against him.
I always thought that Widmore was the "leader" of one side, and Hawking was the other leader of the other side. Since there seems to be two "leading forces" the Jacob, and the black haired guy. Richard said in 2007 there can only be "one leader" that is NOW because one of the sides is imprisoned. The balance is gone. However, in 1954, there were two leaders, one for each faction of the dark/light, and this was the rift. One believed in changing things at a young age, and in humanity (Hawking) and the other didn't (Widmore). One believed in manipulating John Locke to come back so that the black haired guy could be the leader(Widmore), the other (Hawking) sent the body back, knowing that it can be a warning side that Jacob was about to be killed (Hawking). There are obviously two factions, a balance. And the Bram group to me, seems like that neutral party, who is keeping things balanced. The good guys.
So anyway, there is still so much to soak in. I'll ahve better theories developed after watching the finale a 5th time ;) and rewatching seasons 1-5 to gain better overall perspective on this balance. Keep in touch.
