So Kate got thrown in the submarine. This is actually a good thing.
Kate is going to tell Sawyer Jack's plan. Sawyer is going to realize this is a terrible idea, at least for them. If the bomb goes off and it "works" (erasing the past 3 years) then his relationship with Juliet is gone, Locke's father's probably still alive, and who knows what else. No Microsoft, no Cowboys... nothing for Sawyer and Juliet.
If the bomb goes off and the plan doesn't "work" then a bomb has still gone off, and even on the beach, Miles and Jin, and Hurley, will be vaporized.
Sawyer's absolutely going to want to get off that boat and stop Jack from doing something that has two possible outcomes, both bad.
Juliet and Kate are probably going to want to go with him to help. But they are all on a submarine. How in the world do they get off the submarine? It seems too convenient that it'll have to surface for some random reason and this allows the awkward, but now purposed, SKALIET trio to escape.
The most obvious and sensible way for all of this to happen is if the submarine docks at the Looking Glass ... in order to drop off supplies, or pick up more people to evacuate, or whatever it does there. And when it's there, Sawyer will manage to get their handcuffs off (maybe we'll see the "sedation" process starting) and they'll escape. From there, I guess it's a pretty hardcore swim up to the surface, then back to the Island, then off to stop Jack from ruining everything.
