Here´s just a little thought:
The statue was intact a long time ago. What if the reason for its disappearence could be the hydrogen bomb. I always wondered why there are no parts of the statue lying around. The bomb could blow the statue (except of the foot) into millions of pieces.
I know Darlton said, that they wanna end all this timetraveling stuff, but it would fit the storygap.
Here´s another:
Richard said to Flocke in "Follow the leader", that there are some of his people at the temple.
It´s still possible, that the remaining and aged 77ers are hiding in the temple.
And another:
And what about Aaron and Ji Yeon? They will definately return in some way. They are important. Ethan Rom was the first child born on the island. And he was destined to be one of the Others. The same could/should happen to Aaron.
And the last one:
Remember the ajira-boats chasing each other? Sawyer shot a person on the other boat. Who was that? Is this happening after Jacob died? I´m confused.
