After the bomb - Jacob's Rich Tapestry:
I have a feeling that the losties, Kate Jack, Sawyer, Sayid, and Jin are all hurtled to the future. No, not 2007, but 2004.
The place: the Swan Station, just after it imploded.
Why? Well, I think that the original 2004 implosion when Desmond turned the failsafe key was a snapshot in time. It provided a 'signpost' in time to which all the losties could return.
Although it seems that Locke has now turned bad, I would put it that Locke's job, and overall destiny, was to 'see what happens if we don't push the button'. Whatever happened after that was, well, open to suggestion. By not pushing the button, it created the opening.
You may well ask, 'if all the other losties come back to 2004, won't they bump into themselves?'
The answer is simple.
Jacob's list.
He made sure that Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley were all well out of the way - as a substitute for Michael and Walt. Of course, Sayid, Jin and Sun would then set off in the boat to meet up with Jack and the gang and face the others. We know this didn't happen, cue the early 3rd season in the cages.
The returning Losties then set about putting all thos things right that we saw happen in S4 and S5.
Or - Jacob is dead, the losties return to the island in the 'present'. Jacob has left them all a piece of him through his touch - and his remaining will becomes more powerful - a bit like a Hydra - remove one head, and many more will follow.
They're coming.
