I haven't seen much about this but the thought popped in my mind while I was watching last night’s episode. What if the incident that kills everyone is Jack detonating the H bomb? What if Faraday was wrong the whole time and the only reason the incident ever happened in the first place was because Jack set the bomb off in the past? Even though Faraday does have a good track record and seems to know exactly when the incident will happen, I don't think it will be because of the electromagnetism that something goes terribly wrong.
I think we are going to find out that there was little issue with the electromagnetism at the time and after setting off the H bomb is when Dharma started having real issues. In other words, the bomb will explode which will kill everyone left on the island and at the same time, release the energy that Faraday fears. So if Jack had not changed and become a man of faith over a man of science, the whole thing could have been avoided.
I think the reason Kate left and broke up the white picket fence dream of Sawyer and Juliet is because Dharma, or at least the losties who are still with Dharma, are going to need to know what Jack has done so that they can hopefully correct it. The problem is I am having right now is how Jack will kill everyone but at the same time, the Losties will still be alive to help correct what he has done? I think we are going to see yet another turning point in the show much like we did when the freighter got introduced or when we started seeing flash forwards instead of flashbacks.
Furthermore, back in present time, I think Locke is not Locke anymore. I believe he is now being controlled by the smoke monster. What we have to remember is Locke CANNOT be Locke anymore. He was dead. He didn’t get revived by science after not breathing for five minutes; he was revived by a super natural being that probably took possession of his body at the same time. As Ben put it, “dead is dead”. The only other person we have seen who has come back from the dead after coming to the island is Christian, and let’s be honest, he is hardly more than a zombie. For the sake of argument, Locke and Christian have to have been brought back to life by the same power. I think they will be on the same side and whoever controls Christian will in turn be controlling Locke (contrary to what Christian has said, I think he is in with Smokey, not Jacob)
I believe we are going to see that the war to come is going to be the smoke monster against Jacob. That is if Jacob even exists in the first place. If he does exist, I am not sure who will be the good guy and the evil one. It's funny we always thought the war was going to between Ben and Widmore, but I think it is going to be so much bigger than a war between the two of them. Furthermore, I think they will end up working together against the third party that has come to the island (who knows who they are affiliated with).
Last thought, I think whatever is in the box is going to be combated by whatever Hurley is caring in the guitar case if it is evil. I have no idea what could be in either of them but I'm pretty confident I know what is not in the guitar case; a guitar.
