Ok, so we have longed believe that this is all a game - even that dummy Al Taughtwig said so and here is my dumb theory:
Jacob and his good buddy in black, lets called him 'Blackshirt' have been in this game of cat and mouse for a long, long time. We have learned that Blackshirt wants to kill Jacob but for some reason doesn't have the ability to.
Right? Wrong? Inane? Dumb? yea?
First things first, I believe we can guess that Blackshirt is the smoke monster - I'll go into details later on.
So Blackshirt in an attempt to Kill Jacob or vice-versa every century or so brings people to th Island to act as playing peaces in killing the other guy. This cycle has happpened over and over again (thank you Al Taughtwig, I wish you were my dad) but has always happened with different players, but with the same outcome of a stalemate. The first set of players, we can theorise could have been the Egyptians who came to the Island and played out similar circumstances as our beloved 815's. Keep with me here..............
Perhaps also the BlackRock crew played out a similar cycle or 'loop'. As BlackShirt said something like 'they come, they destroy, they corrupt, its always the same'. Perhaps Richard is the Blackrock's answer to Jack? Afterall he could confidantly remove a bullett out of Locke's let?
Now what if, in an attempt to make the next level the winning level, Jacob took the leader of the BlackRock game who may be say Richard and keep him as a guide for the next level. To counter act this lets say BlackShirt is looking for this loop breaker to get to Jacob - lets theorise this Loop breaker comes in the form of Ben moving the Island and resulting in Dead Lock coming back.
Blackshirt as we learned in the finale, told Locke he had to die. This was so he could come back in Locke's guise and fool the others into getting to Jacob and bringing Ben to Kill him.
Now, Blackshirt is most likely the smoke monster, and here is why I believe so.
1. Blackshirt ressurected Christian Sheppard in a ploy to tell Locke to move the island, something that Ben did and ultimately resulted in Locke's death.
2. Locke/Blackshirt was conveniently not around when Ben was being judged and so manifested himself in the form of Alex to weaken Ben into a submissive state so that he would do anything he wanted - kill Jacob.
3. Early on the smoke monster came face to face with Locke and spared him - perhpaps cause he knew immediat future was and could use him?
I may not be spot on, but perhaps in all the above ramblings there maybe something.
What You guys think?
