Dharma Pics, Jugheads, Whispers and Parallel Universes by Mel

....You remember - between season 5's "316," "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" and "Namaste," they established the parallel 2007. This isn't the future of the island that we last saw when Ben Linus turned the wheel in late 2004. This future has Christian Shephard walking around the Dharma barracks alone, showing off pics of Dharma recruiting classes. The Dharma game room / impromptu holding cell (when The Others needed to keep Kate or Sayid jailed for a night or two) was the same room where those pictures hung. Kate spent a good 8 - 12 hours in that room one night. Wouldn't you think she'd get up, walk around, look at pictures hanging on the wall and accidentally happen upon the Dharma pic? She'd see herself, Hurley and Jack.

But if whatever happened, happened, that picture would be hanging there in 2004. But it wouldn't be there in 2004 if it HADN'T happened yet. If it was in Kate, Hurley and Jack's future and not Dharma's past that they worked manual labor for the scientists, then it hadn't happened yet. Maybe Faraday was right - they are the variables....
