Right so i was watching the season 2 episode dave last night and watched it with extra care after reading that the original draft of that episodes script was declined as it gave away to much about the show as a hole. This first led me to beleive that maybe the whole six seasons will end with Hurley waking up in a mental ward and the whole Island was just an pretty little dream.
However i now beleive that a quote by Ben ,or Henry Gale as he was known back then, gives a big clue to the shows ultimate destination:-
Locke: 'You people have been here god knows how long...'
Ben: 'God doesn't know. He can't see this island any better than the rest of the world'
One theory circulating is the God versus satan theory and perhaps this could be linked with this. We know that the Island is extremly difficult to find, hence the construction of the lamp post and the scene with the portugesse guys who looked like Jack at the end of Live Together Die Alone.
So could the island be a seperate entity, seperate from the world as we, and our losties used to live in? Could the reason that he/she who turns the wheel can't return to the island as it , and tunisia, are portals between two worlds? And of course could Jacob and his enemy be the equivelant to God and Satan in the world of the Island?
