Hey guys first time posting a theory, but hell, it’s the finally so what the hell. This will probably end up being totally untrue after Wednesday finale but that why their called theories. Right?
So here it is. For some reason I am starting to think that Bram, Illana, and possibly others our mirrors of our losties. Maybe in another timeline bram and illanas plane crashed on the island before 815. They went through the same exact things the 815ers went through and eventually made it back to 1977, detonated a bomb in a pocket of energy, and were sent back in time as if there crash never occurred. Because the island course corrects it eventually brought back a different plane to do the same things that have already happened. This makes sense considering a puzzling question floating around lost fandom: If jack succeeds in changing history and 815 never crashes, then they wouldn’t be able to crash on the island and eventually go back in time and prevent their plane from crashing by detonating jughead. The crash of 815 was nothing more then the island course correcting, bringing people there to accomplish what had already been done in the past by someone else in a differ! ent timeline. What if jack can change the future? Maybe it has already been changed? The island itself is caught in a catastrophic time loop. Maybe this time loop goes back or maybe began with the black rock.
Bram and illana could be the jack and Locke of their plane crash. The leaders of their survivors who changed their destiny by making their crash never happen. Now, it gets interesting because how and why would Bram and co. remember their plane crashing and getting to the island if it in effect never happened. To this I can only guess. Maybe they were recruited by the as yet unseen third party. Maybe widmore. Maybe the island told them to go. Whatever the reason I suspect the 316ers are somehow trying to prevent Jack and co. from negating their future. They want jack to fail.
Where the wild card comes in though is Locke. As said by many a characters from lost. [the island has been waiting for john for a long time]. Maybe the island brought Locke to once and for all stop this time loop and free Jacob from his time-space constraints. My guess is that whoever Jacob is, he is the first person to turn the wheel, time skip, and turn this whole thing into a mess in the first place.
