During flight 316 crash landing on the Island in 2007, Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid flashed out of the plane before the plane touched ground. When Sun and Frank were shown the Dharma photo of Jack and Co., it convinced me that whatever happened during 1977 was complete to include this season’s finale. So I believe that there was no explosion that destroyed the Island in whole or in part. I also believe that Jack did not prevent the crash of 815 because the camp was still there. When Richard stated to Sun that he saw them all die, he never indicated how. What he could have witnessed was the incident and saw what looked to be the death of many. Since he never saw them again, he may have surmised that they were indeed dead. Instead of a blast, I believe we saw the 1977 folks flashing back to present time (2007).
Since I don’t believe that the timelines were happening concurrently, I think that by the time flight 316 landed, Jack , Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sawyer, Jin, Miles, (and I really hope) Juliet had flashed back. They are on the Island and have finally found their way to the four-toed statue. That’s why Jacob said they were coming. I think he knew that Ilana was already there. Now that Jack and crew (Jacob’s chosen ones) are coming the war will begin.
I believe that we will see Jack and crew on the outrigger, chasing John Locke and company trying to prevent John Locke from believing that he has to die. If they can break that, then the Anti-Jacob’s plot will fail. I do not believe that the boat chasing after the left-behinders was trying to kill them. I think they were simply trying to stop the boat. All these people are excellent marksmen and could have shot one if they had wanted to do so. Evidence is that Juliet did get someone on the other boat.
As a side note, I do not believe that Bernard and Rose flashed. Like they said they are retired. They are through. Like many other fans I believe that they are Adam and Eve.
