after the flash of the incident in '77, the losties who came on 316 will be flashed to 2007 immediatley following the landing of 316 on the island. While sawyer and company will be flashed to 2007 on the main island, meaning that everyone is finnaly synced up with their true timeline. This will happen because whatever happened, happened. The losties caused the incident and since they are protected by the touch of jacob, they will flash before they can be killed by the jughead, with the exception of juilet who is dead because she was never touched by jacob.
Now, I believe that the real john locke as we know him is dead. But that doesnt mean he cant offer support and guidance. Based off the extra-ordinary circumstances of jacobs visit with Hurley and the excellent theories put forth by vossek the past couple of weeks, im thinking that hurley is going to be a huge player in the final season; acting as a pipeline in which to talk to the real John Locke. Jacob not only protected them from death but he is giving the losties a chance to truly change the future ie. Saving jacob. By being on the island after the 316 crash, and armed with all the knowledge they now have, the real john locke will be able to communicate with Hurley and warn him of the coming of his evil twin, and how things would be playing out. Im hoping that by eventally saving jacob from his destined death the real john locke can be brought back to life as a alpert-like figure.
