I know that many have argued against the "Miles is the Incident" theory, and I've said in comments previously that people are getting confused regarding the Pauli Exclusion Principle, but I thought it useful to perhaps expand this a bit...
Miles is not a rabbit. For a start, the out-take Orchid video with the blind panic about the rabbits is NON-CANON surely, and it also makes no sense with regards to 'pure' WHH. If a rabbit is sent 100ms into the future as the CANON video describes, then it would momentarily disappear and then reappear as it entered back into our timeline. This is a slightly pointless experiment though, as a blink of the eye would miss this and the observer would assume nothing had happened. If it was sent minutes or hours into the past, then 'pure' WHH would insist that it had already happened in the rabbit's past. If this is the case, then the presence of two rabbits can't cause 'an Incident', as one of the rabbits has to be sent back in time to allow it to happen. In this sense, the NON-CANON video makes no sense, as why panic so much about the two rabbits not touching, and then sometime in the future choose to send one of these rabbits backwards through time (if it was indeed Chang that s! ent it back)? And surely the rabbit would have to be in 'the vault' to be sent through time, as implied by the CANON video? I doubt we'll ever see the NON-CANON video in the main show (especially because of the swearing!). So why use the 'rabbits can’t touch' philosophy when describing Miles meeting his past self?
I can't see any reason why Miles can't meet himself in the past. It seems as if people are using bad science here, as the Pauli exclusion principle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_exclusion_principle) has no bearing in this case. It operates on the quantum level, not the macroscopic level. Anyway, technically Miles has been interacting with himself ever since he arrived in the 1970s, because the gravitational force has infinite range. So he has been interacting with his baby self, however weakly, without knowing it. And the 'psychological paradox' of Miles meeting himself is redundant also, as 'pure' WHH would say it has already happened in adult Mile's past, and seeing as he is a baby when it happens, he won’t remember it so has no 'future knowledge' that he is destined to meet his past self.
I contend that 'the Incident' has nothing to do with Miles interacting with his baby self. Also, I argue that we don't even have to consider that the real Incident will occur when Miles interacts with his baby self, in order for his father to be worried about the rabbits touching, as the Orchid video in which that happens is NON-CANON and thus has no real bearing on the show.
