As we all know, Hurley used this numbers to win the lottery and after that he went searching the meaning of it...
For me this numbers has no kind of significance but thanks to them, Hurley was aboard flight 815.
We also know that these numbers were transmitted over and over again from the island.
So I think Hurley recorded it and transmitted it on the island... Because the voice of the transmission when heard (on [i]This Place is Death[/i]) is just the same as Hurley's.
So he records and transmits it because if he didn't (or wouldn't?!) he wont never have "found his way" to the island...
