I want to talk a bit more about Sayid/Ben relation. And what Ben remembers.
I think Ben will not remember how he was saved. But he will remember Sayid shooting him. Or maybe he wont. Let's see what if he didn't remember Sayid pulling the trigger.
Lets assume he will remember everything up to point he met Sayid and Sayid promised him he'll take him back to his people, the Hostiles.
If he doesn't remember Sayid shooting him then maybe that is the reason Ben pushed Sayid and manipulated him into killing for him. Because he wanted to change the past. Remember, he doesn't know he was shot and Saved by Jin, Juliet, Kate, Sawyer and Richard. So he wants to change things in the past by manipulating Sayid into hating him (I strongly believe Ben was the one who killed Nadia in order to take away Sayid's life and owe him. How else would Sayid start killing for Ben?) and killing him THIS time once he comes back to the island and meets little Ben. Because Ben remembers meeting Sayid. Why else would he manipulated him? If he didn't know where Sayid would end up? So he was convinced Sayid will pull the trigger BUT what Ben didn't know that this same event occurred always in 1977. And that he will not die if that was his intention. And I believe it was. He wanted to die. That is why he came back to the island. That is why he told the story about Thomas Apostle to Jac! k. Because of him. Because he believed he will die when he comes back to the island. But what he didn't know that Sayid always pulled the trigger. What he didn't know was that Richard will do it instead of Jack inside of the Temple. That he always did that. And that Ben always lost memories regarding that event. So Ben got tricked by the island. Cause he was always meant to live. Well, hm...live? I am really not sure if he actually was alive when Richard took him inside The Temple. It could be that he died. And always died back in 1977 and became undead.
Who actually knows. I really want to see what is going inside of the Temple. And what is the whole deal with undead people.
But the point is that Ben tried to CHANGE THE RULES. He tried to change the past. The irony is he actually manipulated things in the way they always happened. Same as Jack refused. Same as Sayid pulled the trigger. Brilliant!
P.S. The look on Ben's face when he saw Mister John Locke was epic! Now we all can agree that he never ever thought he will see Locke again. That is why he said: I'll miss you John. Tricked again by the island. or Faith? :) Theory by Monika
