So........for a long time I have believed that the Christian we have seen on the island is not the exact same Christian we saw off island. I think we can say the same about Locke. He seems different. Here are some reasons why I think he is either the smoke monster itself or a combination of the smoke and whats left of Johns soul.
1. Locke's overall demeanor shifted from a man often nervous about what to do next, to a man who is calm, collected, and seemingly filled with some answers that even Ben did not have.
2. There is even something different about his physique that I noticed, such as his walk, and his posture.
3. We dont know what happened between the time of the crash and when he appeared alive at the beach.
4. He disappeared into the woods with no explanation other than "he had something to do" (according to Sun) when Ben summoned smokie.
5. He also conveniently was not with ben when he was confronted, only to return right after smokie (alex) left.
6. Alex (smokie) told ben that he knew he was going to try to kill Locke again and would have none of it. Smokie also tells ben to follow Locke no matter what.
7. He does not seem weirded out or even surprised that his fellow losties were in 1977 in the dharma initiative.
I dont know what it means yet that he may be different or someone else completely, but the fact that Ben is told to follow him so blindly concerns me a little bit. Thankfully, I think we are all in agreement that Ben probably isnt going to listen to smokie in regards to that 100%. The island obviously still has a need for Ben. I wonder what it is he still has to do. Perhaps he will at some point be required to sacrifice his life, probably for John. I wonder if he will do it? Theory by AbsoluteTruth
