Kate and Roger seem to have some sort of relationship with one another. They seem to inherently enjoy the company of the other, and given that Kate has saved Ben's life, she seems to care for the family as well. Kate no longer has anybody...she has struck out on Jack and Sawyer, so it would be shocking, but not too shocking, to see Kate and Roger ending up together.
But here's the twist...many LOST fans have commented that Thomas, Claire's boyfriend, looks a lot like Ben. Perhaps there's a reason. Perhaps he is Ben's half-brother, the spawn of a relationship between Kate and Roger.
This, of course, would mean that Kate is Aaron's grandmother. This brings a special irony to the Kate facing Mrs. Littleton and telling her that she is Aaron's grandmother, and also to Jack yelling at Kate, "I'm the only one that's actually related to the kid!"
It also would explain why the island allows Kate to care for Aaron, and why she seems destined for the purpose, at least until she must go back to the island. Jack is allowed to care for him because he is the uncle of the baby, and Kate because she is the grandmother. Theory by Ryan
