Coming out of last week's episode, "He's our you" Our Losties living with the Dharma initiative will find themselves in quite the predicament thanks to Sayid.
Sayid will expectedly make a clean getaway, meet up with the others and possibly go and cause some more mischief in other-town. I have a feeling that Sayid will go to Richard, explain what he did, and try and convince him that was a good idea. What happens to Sayid is a whole other theory that can be tackled later, but i feel Sayid's future depends largely on how much Richard knows about Ben and his playing a key role in the future.
But the focus of this theory is centered around Jack. Ive heard a few theories where people think that Juliet is going to save Ben, hence Ben grows up obsessing over Juliet. This is all presumably based on the "of course, you look just like her" comments made towards Juliet about Ben's obsession over her. But lets be honest. Juliet cant save anybody in surgery, and little ben doesnt need her to. We have hero Jack, ready to perform his typical hero duties!
(Juliet is HOT so you cant blame little ben for getting a crush on her, regardless of if she saved his life or not.)
Back to Jack, and the central character behind my theory. Jack Kate, Hurley, and possibly any other new recruits who showed up could be seen as responsible for causing the incidents that occur There were already a bunch of shady things happening to arouse suspicion (Kate not on the original list, Jack calling LaFleur James, instead of Jim, etc) Sayid has provided Jack the ultimate opportunity to win back the favor of the others just as quickly as they lost it. He performs the surgery and two possible scenerio's arise.
1) the more unlikely theory is the DI elite say, hey, why the heck did this doctor get assigned as a workman, who is this guy? People get even more suspicious, they get taken to Oldham and eventually the truth comes out. This is unlikely because it causes too much of a shift in history, and to an extent i believe that whatever happened, happened, and something this drastic couldnt happen because it would have too much of an impact on future events (the incident, the purge, etc.)
2) Jack gains the respect of the DI and they are re-admitted into society, with Jack assuming a pivotal leadership position, allowing him to learn the ways of Dharma -> The real reason he was brought back to the island, so he can possibly lead the re-establishment of Dharma in present time.
This might seem far out for some people, and not so far out for others, but there have been lots of hints about Dharma's re-emergence in the future, and Sayid shooting ben allows Jack to save the day and become a pivotal character on the show once again.
Let me know what you guys think. Cant wait for tonight's episode. Theory by Fizzmasterflex
